This new tool and animation has just been released by JISC in the UK. "The web2rights tool is of an extremely high quality, blending sound legal and policy advice with pragmatic solutions to ensure that IPR is not an inhibitor for learning, teaching and research activity." The legal advice will pertain to the UK but I thought it an interesting idea and still relevant to Australia.
Currently Victorian TAFE's are not audited and do not remunerate for their use of copyrighted material in digital formats but I was told at a meeting last week that it will occur in the next 12-18 months and we will have to comply with copyright and remunerate through CAL in the digital world just as we do in the hard print world. This will possibly include an audit on copyrighted materials used in TAFEVC delivery or made available to students via intranets. I'll keep you informed as this develops.
Please contact the IT Department if you have difficulty downloading/accessing the animation.

Hi Shalene,
you might also want to point learners to the Copyright Kitchen at http://copyrightkitchen.flexiblelearning.net.au/main.php which was developed for Australian copyright situations. It's still current. :)
cheers
